Week 9: Song & Lines

Quick Write

HW RJ 9.2 T.O. CH 9 p 131-149

AR 50% by Friday

We started off the day by Dani reading her blog, and I told her to pick me because I have a little surprise for Keziah. I then came to the front where I almost fought a chair for being tied with the other chair but it's ok. I feel like something always happens when I write the blog. Anyway, we started on CreaTober and Ms. Nakada read out all the prompts. We silently took five minutes to draw, and I drew a house because my Creepy/ cozy prompt was home. The timer went off, and Ms. Nakada asked how everything went. Miles and Lena went up to the front of the class to show their drawings. Miles drew a really nice fortune cookie  and Lena did this amazing drawing for FaceTober. 

Last minute, Roxy and Emmett came up and share and the both did amazing. I also went up and showed one of many of my drawings (it was slay). Cash also made a super cool drawing. Then, I made an announcement about Fredrick being in everybody's closet at once. We then started a conversation on chapter 8 and some people discussed their opinions. Ms. Nakada then started discussing chapter 8 and Miles and I were making interesting faces at each other. We then started the song, and when we finished up writing the title we packed up and left.

            We walked into sixth period and settled down into our seats. As we all started to copy down the agenda and homework into our binder reminders, Ms. Nakada called up Ulises to read his blog. He then picked me to do the next blog, and we started to correct his blog. After, everyone started on their Creatober projects until the timer went off and some people went up to show their drawings. Once they finished presenting their drawings, Ms. Nakada told us all to pull out our reading journals and set goals for our iReady scores. After that, we set up our RJ week nine and we went over Indigenous People's Day. We then wrote down week nine quote and question. Finally, the bell rang, and we packed up and left.

To start off the day in Ms. Nakada's class we took out our Binder reminders, English notebooks, and The Outsiders from our backpacks. Then, we took five minutes to do Creatober. The timer went off, and Ms. Nakada asked "Who wants to share their drawing." Miles, Larry, and Ashyln came up one by one and shared their drawings. After, Ms. Nakada announced that she is going to check binder reminders, and reading logs. She asked if anybody had the Iready scores signed by their parents. Soon later, Ms. Nakada checked everyone's and told us to pull out The Outsiders because we are gonna discuss the chapter. Finally, after discussing the chapter, we pulled out our Chromebooks to do the week 8 quiz. We packed up and left the class.

Today, in the sixth period we started off by writing down the agenda in our binder reminders. After that, Yaretzi shared her blog post to the class. Then, we took some time to work on our CreaTobers, and when we finished working on our CreaTobers, Larry, Emmett, Lena, Ashlyn, and Miles shared their creations with the class.
And after sharing their creations, we started to discuss our thoughts and concerns on Chapter Six of The Outsiders, and for a split moment the class started to discuss pizza establishments, but quickly returned to reading the chapter.
After discussing The Outsiders, we wrote down the Q.Q.S.L and talked about this weeks song and poem. Lastly, Ms.Nakada passed out our iReady scores and talked about our goals and plans for them.
Finally, we packed up and were dismissed for the day.💀

Set Up /Q.W.

We started the day by doing our Creatober. Lena, Emmett, and William then went to share what they drew for Creatober. Then we started talking about the three word summary, when suddenly Ms. Nakada got informed by Ms. Bell to take attendance because she forgot. After that, we summarized Chapter 5, went on to do our Q.Q.S.L. We ended the day by hearing the song of the week and packed up to leave.

Ch. 5 p. 68-84

We started class writing in our binder reminders. Then, we did blog corrections. Today we started CreaTober. We had five minutes draw, and then some people shared what they did to the class. We talked about banned books, and countries that ban a lot of books. Ms. Nakada also started talking about "Tank Man." Our quote was about how we should be able to have the freedom to read whatever books we want. Then, we looked over a list of some of the books people have tried to ban. The bell rang, we packed up, and the school day ended.

Week 7 Quiz

We came into class and had a conversation about Mr. Hastings' hair. After that, Natalie read her blog and chose me. Ms. Nakada then went around and checked our reading journals while we were all silently reading The Outsiders. We popcorn read The Outsiders, and then we annotated on sticky-notes and stuck them on the pages. We later took the Week 7 Quiz. Ms. Nakada let us relax for the rest of the class. We packed up and the bell rang.
