Read/Write a poem a day
We started off class louder than usual, and made our way to our seats. We listened to the Head Space meditation as the take a minute, and then Dani read her blog. She told me the day before that she wasn't going to choose me, but she did anyway. We read the poem "wishes for sons" by Lucille Clifton, and discussed the topic. After that, we started writing our own poems for the day. The prompts were ars poetica, a list of hexes/curses, and "___ better." Some people shared their poems, and the fire alarm rang. As soon as we made it outside, we had to go back to class. We got out our English notebooks and worked on QQSL Week 13. We discussed the song of the week "Garden Song" by Phoebe Bridgers. We wrote our favorite lyrics and what the song meant.
We went over the lines, "There Are Birds Here" by Jamaal May, and that the speaker was looking for positive things and "they" were looking for negatives. We were interrupted by the bell, and we quickly packed up and left.
