Write a poem!
Today we came into class, and did our take a minute. Larry read his blog, and when he finished he let Landon choose who to pick. He chose me. We chose the poem "The Laughing Heart" by Charles Bukowski from the poetry packet. We annotated the poem, and Noah gave a strange example for the word "submission." We wrote our poems for the day, and then Lena shared hers. After she read it, she got a lot of applause.
We then got into our song for the week. The song was "Born in the USA" by Bruce Springsteen. Ms. Nakada wanted us to decide if the artist was happy to be born in USA or not. We decided that he was not happy about it because of the Vietnam War. We wrote our favorite lyrics, then packed up and left.
