Reader's/Writer's workshop
HW: RJ 16.1 iReady 40-45min 2 lessons, WRITE A POEM!
Everyone walks in, sits down, and gets ready for the class. Lena then starts to read her blog and chooses me! After we finish correcting, Ms. Nakada has us choose a poem for our class to read. We read "A World of Dew" By Kobayashi Issa. Once we finished analyzing the poem we transition into writing our own poems with the prompts: Invent a Word, Felt the Sun, Until "Insert". When we finished that, Ms. Nakada had us do iReady or work on our poems some more.
We discussed the quote: "If you have the feeling something is wrong, don't be afraid to speak up" by Fred Korematsu.
The question is: Who do you look to for understanding the difference between right and wrong?
It is soon ready to leave, everyone packs up, the bell rings, and yay! The day is over saved by the bell!
